As our Senior Tech Designer for NCAA/NFL Football, Global Promo Apparel, you will utilize your advanced technical knowledge and skill related to product fit, patternmaking and construction from initial concept through to commercialization for complex apparel development projects.
You’ll work closely with Design to understand the creative vision of the line for each project and translate design concepts into 3D product. You'll also translate design concepts to generate 2D patterns that incorporate proportional lines, fit requirements and construction feasibility. Senior Technical Designers drive the fit strategy, lead fit sessions and provide technical direction to the Project Team while providing recommendations and solutions to issues.
You'll collaborate with North American and Global Vendors, along with the Project Team, to ensure production and manufacturability. You'll create and communicate pattern revisions, incorporating styling and fit changes. In addition, you will also create tech packs for production to lead to on time delivery according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.
Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science or related field
Minimum 5 years' pattern making and apparel development experience
Advanced knowledge of the apparel development process from inception through production, including pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, and machinery
Demonstrated skills in problem solving and results orientation
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and cooperatively with a diverse group of people
Ability to handle a high workload and multiple projects
Ability to act as a technical resource and mentor others; lead initiatives and project teams
Ability to interpret design intent and offer alternative solutions
Ability to write product specs and advanced construction instructions
Experience working with vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability
Experience working with MS Office programs
Experience working Adobe Illustrator
Experience working in CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex)
Experience working in 3D apparel software (i.e. Lotta, V-Stitcher, CLO 3d), highly desired
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
