Global Tools and Storage (GTS) is looking for a Purchasing Analyst to lead all phases of material movement – Including collaborating with marketing, sales, sourcing, production, warehouse, and quality personnel to analyze and insure appropriate scheduling, & procurement of material. As the Purchasing Analyst, you will utilize MRP and related planning systems, maintain system planning parameters and master data, provide reports and analysis, and make customer and metric-focused decisions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyze, plan and schedule appropriate quantities and timing of materials to support Sales, Production, and Packaging plans. Provide optimized requirements to internal and external suppliers in the form of Forecasts, Material Authorizations, Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, and Releases.
Monitor schedule attainment and supplier performance. Develop proactive contingency plans as well as reactive recovery plans. Proactively communicate risks to impacted stakeholders.
Develop planning parameters to replenish inventories and meet customer service objectives, while at the same time supporting organizational working capital and productivity goals.
Work with suppliers, plants, sourcing and other stakeholders to reduce lead times and increase flexibility of supply.
Support new product development and launches by providing relevant information, developing appropriate timelines, and monitoring and appropriately reacting to and communicating variances from plans.
Maintain good relations with vendors and become thoroughly familiar with vendor supply chains, processes, and capacities/capabilities in order to facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning Process as well as capacity planning and master scheduling activities where required.
Support cycle count programs and physical inventory events to maintain inventory accuracy.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for other functional areas within the Global Business Units which you support. Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the technical and process areas of our Operating System [SAP]: Plan-to-Ship [PP and APO], Procure-to-Pay [MM], and Reporting [BEx].
Support attainment of organizational goals for service and inventory levels.
Flexibility to meet business needs, deliver project objectives, and work in a fast-paced environment.
BA/BS degree and two to four years of specific experience in materials management or planning functions. APICS or NAPM certification preferred.
Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to use judgment to analyze facts, incorporate risk/uncertainty analysis, and report findings & recommend corrective actions in writing and verbally.
Strong consensus-building skills, as well as the ability to function as a “team player” in support roles.
Experience with ERP systems, including strong knowledge of MRP. Prior experience with SAP strongly preferred.
Proficiency with the full Microsoft Office Suite, with very strong Excel skills.
Ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.
