As Director, Corporate Communications, you will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and serve as an integral member of the marketing leadership team. You will be responsible for the development of all public relations, analyst relations as well as internal and external communications strategies and will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and execute communications that advance Alteryxs corporate objectives. You will work closely with Alteryxs executive team creating interest and awareness of company information, product announcements, mergers and acquisitions, public affairs, issues management and all public facing communications. Also works closely with our HR team to continue growing our great culture including our Alteryx For Good charitable cause program.

The Director, Communications will be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of communications and public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its leadership. This individual will be an ambassador for the organization and operationalize the marketing strategy of delivering new, clever, breakthrough and engaging initiatives to differentiate and deliver impactful results.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a communications/public relations strategy that will allow Alteryx to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including relevant media outlets and key influencers
  • Work with the leadership team as well as staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions
  • Manage agency relationships to ensure highest level of performance and results.
  • Identify key communications trends beneficial to Alteryx
  • Represent Alteryx leadership and products to external parties
  • The ability to write releases and content and give skillful direction and collaboration with your Communications team (internal & external)
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
  • Advance Alteryxs brand, voice, and impact
  • Identify and execute opportunities to further Alteryxs brand awareness in the market through innovative use of social media and the use of executive voices
  • Help drive content development that consistently ties to Alteryxs key messages and complies with the brand
  • Lead the development of Alteryxs Messaging Handbook
  • Manage and partner with a local team of brand, PR, AR, social, and communications experts combining operational, technical and engaging requirements for superior customer experiences
  • Create, manage and refine marketing communications metrics to advise the CMO and the Leadership Team on data-driven decisions regarding measurements of brand awareness, PR and Social, share of voice and sentiment and other key data sets to measure the health of our programs and the Alteryx marque
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments to ensure consistent internal use of the Alteryx messaging and brand
  • Continuously update and educate the organization and create a best-in-class internal comms plan and experience
Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 years experience and a demonstrated track record of success at an executive level performance with a multibillion dollar company
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred
  • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier technology and business reporters and editors.
  • Successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements
  • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive, strategic communications, media relations program to advance Alteryxs mission and goals
  • Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized, and a keen ability to leverage our brand
  • Experience in building, mentoring, and coaching a team of communications specialists
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers while having the ability to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
  • Excellent and persuasive communicator
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management and Alteryxs Executive leadership and staff
  • Marketing strategy, particularly how modern marketing communications play a role in the overall strategic mix
  • Business writing and communications

  • Operational and budgetary skills and expertise
  • Track record of taking a strategic marketing plan and executing for impact
