This is an individual contributor role working as part of the Customer Success and Sales organization, that will focus on renewing and managing existing named accounts. The role consists of proactive activity for the renewal and retention of customers, as well as potentially identifying upsell opportunities to existing customers. The position is key to managing the existing customer base and requires skills in sales, setting renewal strategy and independent decision making.  The role will be measured most on the Revenue Retention of existing customers through renewal activities.  A successful candidate will have sound sales experience, excellent business acumen with strong interpersonal and presentation skills with a strong customer focus and commitment to customer success. 


  • Take ownership of renewal opportunities, forecasting, negotiation and engaging internal resources and close renewals prior to contract expiration
  • Identify requirements, uncover roadblocks and demonstrate account management capabilities to drive renewal to on-time closure
  • Responsible for identifying upsell opportunities within customer accounts through consultative discovery conversations and working with a sales representative to close
  • Goal of maximizing contract value while protecting and enhancing customer relationship
  • Responsible for pipeline management of assigned accounts and accurate record updates in Salesforce daily
  • Accurately forecast projected revenue attainment to sales management as requested by Manager
  • Provide management with complete visibility to renewals and solicit involvement as required
  • Communicate risk clearly and take the lead in developing resolution strategy
  • Efficiently handles customer inquiries related to quotes and pricing
  • Performs outbound renewal activities such as discovering and educating new stakeholders and renewals qualifications for existing customers
  • Maintains accurate Renewal Health Detail through scheduled calls, follow-up emails and updates in Salesforce
  • Positively interacts and collaborates with customers and internal business groups to ensure a smooth transaction for the customer
  • Maintain consistent high-level technical knowledge of the product, version updates, and pricing
  • Recognize and escalate difficult technical or business issues within Sales, Customer Support, and any other parts of organization, to work a solution which results in prompt sales closure and optimal customer satisfaction
  • Build strong working relationships across departments supporting renewals
  • Successfully negotiate all issues related to renewals
  • Drive stake holders to engage in local events, workshops, user groups, inspire conference, or other enablement resources
  • Conduct product demonstrations or platform overviews as part of educating new stakeholders
  • Strong customer focus on service, satisfaction, enablement and success


  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual renewal revenue targets
  • Achieve and maintain target retention rate for assigned accounts

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in an efficient and professional manner
  • Decision making skills, and ability to show good judgment in decision making
  • Strong communication skills, both written & verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • At least 2-4 years' experience in inside or field sales
  • Meeting or exceeding your sales retention/growth quotas
  • Ability to work under a deadline 
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with wide variety of personas such as business users, management, IT, and executive level.
  • Ability to effectively navigate objections and challenges toward a win-win outcome and renewal
