We provide financing to some of the most innovative and imaginative companies on earth, from global household names to the millions of small businesses across the world that provide vital components and services to make the everyday objects we take for granted. But, our ambition to change the way the world gets paid is rooted in far more humble beginnings.

Our founder and CEO Lex Greensill grew up on a farm in Australia, where he experienced firsthand the financial hardships of traditional supply chain finance, with farmers’ often waiting years to be paid for their already harvested crops. So, he worked on rewriting the payment code to ensure they’d get paid promptly and fairly. That same code became the foundation of the company Greensill, established in 2011 with a simple practical mission: to make finance fairer.

Now, after nearly a decade of working to make finance fairer for companies, we’re changing the way ordinary workers get paid, too. Our latest technological breakthrough, Earnd, is a data-driven mobile platform that allows employees to access their pay every day as soon as it is earned – rather than waiting until the end of the month. We fundamentally believe that employees should never be charged a fee to access their earnings, so this service is provided free of charge to all our employees, allowing them to keep 100% of their earnings.

We hope one day everyone with a job and everyone with an outstanding invoice will be paid the Greensill way – instantly.
