WE MAKE FOOD THE WORLD LOVES, BUT WE DO MORE THAN THAT
General Mills is a place that prioritizes being a force for good. A place to expand learning, explore new perspectives and reimagine new possibilities, every day. We look for people who want to bring their best—bold thinkers with big hearts who challenge one another and grow together. We bring remarkable people together, people who are hungry for what’s next.
OUR TABLE IS YOUR TABLE
At General Mills, we celebrate our differences—within our company, our communities, and our consumers—because we find strength and opportunity in diversity. For us, building a culture of belonging is a core business strategy. By championing the voices of those with different backgrounds, experiences and approaches, we create a richer, more open environment for new ideas to flourish. Our growth is accelerated when we all feel we have a seat at the table.
Inclusion at General Mills is founded on four pillars: workforce, cultural, consumer and societal. Each pillar serves to inform and elevate the others for greatest impact to our company and our world.

A legacy of impact
General Mills has connected people and resources since our earliest days in the 1800s, when flour was crucial in every home. Our founder didn't keep it to himself when he succeeded in adopting new technology to make his mills safer. He shared that knowledge with competitors, so their workers could be safer and flour would not be in short supply.

Global Health Reporting
Over the years, we have tracked our journey to improve the nutrition of our products through our U.S. Health Metric reporting system. This system measured our progress in increasing positive nutrients, decreasing nutrients to limit, qualifying for a nutrient or health benefit claim, or meeting specific internal nutrition requirements. We are proud to report that in fiscal 2019, 45% of General Mills global volume met the company’s internal criteria as “Nutrition-Forward Foods.”
Sustainability
General Mills continues to make progress on our journey to regenerate our planet and support farmers and our communities. We believe sustaining our planet’s natural resources won’t be enough to feed a growing population – we need to regenerate them.
Key areas of focus include:
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our full value chain
- Advance regenerative agriculture across our sourcing footprint
- Make our packaging recyclable or reusable
- Reduce food loss and waste in our operations
Enhance human rights across our value chain
Food Safety
Safety is a priority focus area for us.
It's part of our culture.
Leading with safety – both the safety of our employees in the workplace and the food they make – is one of the key operating principles that guides our work.
Workplace Safety
Our goal is to foster a safe, inclusive and rewarding workplace.
