Our mission is to develop innovators who envision and create a better world.

Founded in 2002, Galileo has grown to over 70 awe-inspiring summer camp programs throughout the Bay Area, SoCal, and Chicago, for which we hire close to 2,000+ summer staff each year. Our mission is to develop innovators who envision and create a better world. We’re simultaneously providing a platform for a new generation of innovative industry professionals.

Working for Galileo gives you the chance to be part of something meaningful and ground-breaking. Whether joining our Summer Staff, Camp Director, or Headquarters teams, people who come to work here find the energy and atmosphere so addicting that they stick around for a long time. That tells us we’re doing something right.

Sure, our environment is fun and high-functioning. Our teams are interesting, engaged, and passionate about the work we do. We’re a varied group of artists and tinkerers, bibliophiles and nature-lovers, theatre buffs and activists, community-builders and proud first-generation citizens. Some of are lifelong campers, while others never went to or worked at a camp before Galileo.

Above all else, we’re individuals committed to developing young innovators, and being true innovators ourselves. At its core, innovation requires a few essential tools — an open heart and a growth mindset. We believe that diversity within our camper and staff communities — across race, the gender spectrum, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, and disability — fosters the ever-evolving development of these tools in all of us.

Our values reflect the same principles we teach our campers—to be visionary, courageous, collaborative, determined, and reflective. Through the consistent application of our values, our high-functioning teams take every opportunity to grow and improve. Our teams believe that the way we work together is just as important as the work itself, which is why we infuse our days with the same joy and wonder that our campers experience.

At Galileo, we believe that leadership can come from anywhere within the organization. We reward success, and put systems in place to help you achieve it. Regular goal setting and evaluation, incredible manager support, and regular touch points to share and receive feedback all add up to a transparent and supportive environment. We also promote a team and family spirit that fosters high-functioning teams and depth of value in our colleagues.
