Fandango has a long-standing commitment to diversity, inclusion and corporate social responsibility, which is reflected throughout the company, from employee development, recruiting and special resource groups to internship programs and community outreach. Over the past several years, Fandango has made great strides to increase tech leadership and employment opportunities for women and minorities. In addition to internal management training programs, the company continues to attract diverse talent through its University of Fandango internship programs, involvement in D&I conferences, partnerships with University affinity groups, and other related activities.
In 2017, it formed the Fandango chapter of TECH Women and began work with minority and LGBTQ organizations. With the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Fandango launched a multi-year Rotten Tomatoes Fellowship in Digital Innovation and Film Criticism, a unique hands-on graduate fellowship to foster the next generation of entertainment storytellers and critics for social and emerging platforms. The first fellowship was awarded to a female, Filipino-American who was a first-generation college student looking to better understand the role of pop culture in American media.
In the employee development area, Fandango has implemented a management essentials training program, unconscious bias training and optional foreign language classes to help better serve its growing and diverse customer base. For years the company has steadily increased its community outreach, helping employees get involved in volunteer programs and support local organizations such as the LAPD 77th Precinct, LAPD Central Division, Hillsides, GetGiveGo, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
