The recipient of a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Elaine Rosa balances a distinguished career as a Licensed Psychologist with a commitment to her country. A longtime member of the military, she has served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, the California Army National Guard, and the United States Active Duty Army. In 2017, Dr. Elaine Rosa completed a nine-month deployment in Afghanistan as part of a NATO-based operation.
Concurrently with her military experience, Dr. Rosa has held outpatient therapist, social worker, program manager, and other mental health-related positions over the past 15 years. While completing her Doctor of Psychology, she received training through doctoral practicums and internships at prominent institutions such as the Switzer Learning Center, the Joseph J. Peters Institute, and the Drexel University College of Medicine. Since that time, she has held leadership roles with several California organizations, including Mental Health Systems Kern ACTions and Kern County Mental Health, the latter of which is now called Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.
Most recently, Dr. Rosa served as a contracted licensed psychologist at Kern Valley State Prison in Delano, California. There, she provided individual and group treatment to an all-male Level Four prison population through the Enhanced Outpatient Program. In addition to providing mental-health treatment, she handled a wide range of administrative tasks, such as managing electronic health records, conducting suicide-risk evaluations, and making assessments.
