About me
Dr. Judith Berry has accumulated 30 years of broad experience in the fields of K-12 and higher education that included working as business services and technology consultant with the Michigan Department of Education, where she developed one of the country’s most effective business services and technology programs. She subsequently spent over a decade in administrative positions at Lansing Community College before returning to the K-12 environment in the Detroit area. Carrying out responsibilities as assistant chancellor of instructional support and educational accountability, Dr. Judith Berry instituted programs designed to improve outcomes for students at low-performing schools.
Transitioning to K12 education led Dr. Judith Berry to Washington State. There, she served as deputy superintendent and then concurrently as interim superintendent of the Tukwila School District. In these leadership positions, she oversaw a nearly 3,000-student district that stands out as one of the country’s most diverse.
Today, Dr. Judith Berry draws on her extensive professional background to provide coaching for aspiring K12 and community college leaders. For several years, she has led workshops at the nationally renowned Carolyn Grubbs Williams Leadership Development Institute for African American Midlevel Administrators in Community Colleges. Dr. Judith Berry most recently was a guest speaker in educational leadership graduate courses at the University of Washington, Tacoma and the City University of Seattle.
Since 1991, she has also led as president of Technical Education Services and Training (TEST). In her capacity as a strategist at this Michigan company, Dr. Berry creates infrastructures that help educational administrators to provide comprehensive curricula and appropriate services to ensure students develop the proper skills for success in college and their careers.
