About me
Dr. Beth Grosshans is a clinical psychologist in New Jersey with a history of providing psychological assessment and assistance to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Although now retired, she managed her own private practice for more than 15 years before taking a leave of absence to pursue other interests in her field. Her work involved providing private consultations and conducting seminars for clinicians, educators, and parenting groups. Dr. Beth Grosshans also was active with the American Psychological Association, the New Jersey Psychological Association, and the Association for the Advancement of Psychology.
Drawing on her two decades of experience working with children and families, she authored a parenting book in 2008 entitled Beyond Time Out: From Chaos to Calm. The book explored her theories on parental discipline and how parents contribute to troubling behavior in children by giving them too much power. Dr. Beth Grosshans also offered tools and advice to help parents guide their children toward more controlled and respectful behavior. Additionally, she wrote an opening chapter for the upcoming parenting anthology Raising Great Parents.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Grosshans serves on the advisory board of the New York Metropolitan Opera. She also supports Planned Parenthood.
