About me
Bess Raechel Goden is a freelance writer, graphic designer, illustrator, photo retoucher, diy-crafting specialist and fiber artist. Most recently she was a freelance designer with Jeff Mach Events, (the company behind The Steampunk World’s Fair, the world’s largest Steampunk event), providing print signage, product photo compositing, retouching and social network advertisements. She has also created web design assets, social graphics, packaging, vector illustrations, photo retouching/early photo restoration and fiber jewelry/accessories for her recently launched startup Steampunk Parliament. She has previously worked as a contract web designer, specializing in the craft and toy markets. She also freelances with Crochet Insider, a specialty craft website for which she has consulted on layout, provided web assets, ads and photo retouches. For Insider, she also crocheted samples of designer patterns that were then featured in periodicals such as Crochet World. She has experience working with Arthur A. Levine Books, Scholastic, the teacher’s publication, School Library Journal and The New York Public Library. She has also designed both web and print graphics for toy companies such as the educational doll company, GirlsExplore and Shoot Again Games. For GirlsExplore, she also designed a complete sitemap restructure and UX/UI optimization, integrating interactive infographics and slideshows. She has a great sense of humor and positive, upbeat attitude. She is currently looking for a full time position, but is also interested in additional freelance work.
