As Wonder Woman is smashing box offices across the globe . I wanted to talk about women empowerment We need to empower and support  women  to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.

I will be attending a conference next week  The Extraordinary Lady Speaks Conference  and STAR AWARD 2017 ,a Conference beyond Gathering and Imagination it will being 100 women together across the globe in London

Last month I spoke at #HeadzUpBusiness alongside some amazing trailblazers . It was wonderful to see so many women under one roof here is my highlights

Women empowerment not about competing with men

There is also no excuse for keeping quiet when somebody we know is battling misogynistic behavior... There is no excuse for standing back when we see injustices suffered by women in our society," I have spent decades challenging out of date harmful cultural practices which oppress women and girls .

I have spent years working with men to champion women's rights

Women empowerment can end poverty

We need to educate girls if we want to empower them , this is the only way girls can work themselves out of poverty , we need to give them a living wage .

The role of social media in women empowerment

Social media has  widely spread feminism ideologies. Hashtags and online campaigns have given women around the world a voice. Social media has shed light on women’s issues not covered by mainstream media. I hold a weekly twitter chat called #EmpowermentHour

When women succeed, nations are more safe, secure and prosperous.

Barack Obama, 44th US President

More than ever before, today’s young women have more choices and control in their lives in the west , They had the most choices in education, the least in career choices. Sadly in some countries girls are still victims of early child  forced marriages

We need to tackle inequalities across the globe

We need to celebrate women in leadership and look for mentors

We have to be the change we want to see

Even before you came back from the even in London, tell us more about what you know about UN Women - what they have done and/or are doing, etc! Sounds like something very interesting.
