I was planning on teaching workshops to middle school girls, hoping to focus on app development.

I know that a lot of young people today take up coding very early, but which languages would be best to teach them where they can potentially use it in the real world but won't be too intimidated?

I was initially going to teach them Android Studio but now that I know most are starting coding for the first time, what do you all recommend I teach?

For web app development, I think Python would be a great starter coding language! It was one of my first languages I've learned and enjoyed, especially due to the readability nature of the syntax. Python can also be very flexible for coders on all levels, from beginners to experts in the tech industry. It would be easy to teach concepts and run it on Python, which would help given that your audience is super young!

I'm not experienced enough in mobile app development to recommend a suitable language, but I think it would be a much harder task to teach middle schoolers as opposed to learning and grasping the fundamentals of programming. It would be really cool if anyone had recommendations in mobile app development though! I'm interested in finding out as well.
