Are you happy about Moonlight winning? I think they completely deserved with such a groundbreaking movie.

I'm a horrible moviegoer and have not seen either, but I do know that Moonlight features an LGBTQIA+ individual and all-black cast, and that many people did not want La La Land to win because it was not as good of a movie, and winning would perpetuate the whiteness of awards ceremonies. That being said, I think it's very ironic that these two movies were the ones involved in the mix-up. I can't help but feel bothered that such a historic moment for Moonlight is partially dimmed by the drama surrounding La La Land's false "win." So, in short, I'm not sure how I feel. Obviously I'm thrilled for the cast and crew of Moonlight, but I definitely don't think it was an accident that La La Land was announced as the winner. I also don't feel too bad for the presenters, because while being handed the wrong envelope was not their fault, they should have noticed that something didn't add up when they saw Emma Stone's name and not the name of a movie.

I would say it was "memorable". Unexpected, yes, shocking, yes. But Steve Harvey and Miss Universe were really spot-on with those tweets (“Have your people call our people — we know what to do. #Oscars #MissUniverse” & “Call me Warren Beatty. I can help you get through this! #Oscars.”

Perhaps the oscar mix up was planned..... a way to make up for an all time low lack of viewers!
