The topic is 'Interns' and I would like for you to share any humorous, bizarre, frustrating experiences etc you've ever had with an intern (or apprentice) whose worked for you or while you were in an intern. Of course, feel free to leave specific names out of it, but include what you feel comfortable with in regard to the general context (i.e.: the sort of company the people involved were employed at, excerpts from emails etc). It can even relate to interviews, applications, correspondence etc you have had with potential interns too.

Feel free to private message me your response if you don't feel comfortable sharing here and/or send them to me via email at: [email protected]

I actually have an intern and I think it's the best thing ever. Yes, you need to spend a lot of time teaching them all the dos and don'ts but once they get the idea, they can be really helpful (provided that they *really* wanted to work in x industry). Plus, someone needs to give them a chance. Not many companies are willing to train newbies but some of them really have potential. Maybe I'm lucky but I feel way better now that I have an intern — and no, she doesn't have to bring me coffee or anything, she writes and reads and helps me find the coolest topics for magazine issues.
