maybe work in a career first and then see if some of the people you admire career wise recommend business school or have a business degree. Would hate to spend all that money and time if its not worth it!

This is a really good question Anne! I have heard from some people in the business that business school is not needed however I think that if you are in a career and you feel like you are not improving or may need a boost then business school can be a good idea.

This sounds very good advice to me since one of my friends' sisters did almost this and got into Harvard Business School!

The GMAT would be traditionally the requisite to get into a business school. This said, I have heard that more and more schools, including some famous Ivy League universities have also started to accept the GRE as well. So, if you are not sure whether you would want really to attend business schools alone or something else down the road, maybe the GRE will be what you would want to prepare for. If you really mean, however, to attend business schools, then maybe the GMAT is what you want to focus on. As someone who lives in NY you should have plenty of choices. Regarding schools, there are both the Stern Business School and Columbia business school, which are both quite reputable. If you could, I would suggest that you try hard to get into Harvard Business School or Stanford Business School, which will be worth the time and investment! Hope this helps!
