Though laziness and procrastination usually have a negative connotation, sometimes I feel as though my productivity and motivation are boosted after indulging in some laziness.

What do you think? What are the possible benefits of laziness and procrastination? How do you think we can set limits for ourselves?

Yup! I feel like procrastinating is the best way to let out the stress that you feel and most of the time the work is not as bad as my anxiety makes it out to be. However, it becomes dangerous when procrastinating becomes a habit.

Completely agree. Procrastinating can help release that stress and distract you for a while but it'll become a source of stress if you don't keep it in check.

I think for a lot of people procrastination has a limit that when reached, will finally motivate them to work. Similarly, for certain assignments, you just can’t think of anything or you’d give horrible answers until you hit that point.

@Jasmine Oang I love that you brought up limits. It's so important to recognize when you've reached that tipping point and start working. I just wish that I was better at recognizing that point of no return.

Personally, I see benefits to procrastination for myself. I do a lot better under pressure and always produce my most quality work then, if that makes sense.

@Mihika Sharma I totally agree. I feel like the pressure makes you work more effectively and even produces better work.

Yes, I think it's really important to take time to recharge. For instance, if you feel like you are having writer's block, instead of staring at the computer, I get up and work out, take a walk, make a call, etc. Just something to shake up a bit to get the work/creative flow going again.

@Bethany Heinrich Thank you for all your advice, it's always impactful. I feel like we need to rest and recharge to be truly productive. It's ironic that our focus on constantly working and producing results sometimes causes us to be more unproductive.

You are very welcome @Kaushikee it's all about balance. If you tip too much one way, it will not be helpful
