Hi! I'm Jackie London, RD. I'm a Registered Dietitian (RD) and New York State Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN). I joined Good Housekeeping in August 2014 as nutrition director, where I am responsible for the creation, execution, and oversight of all of the magazine’s nutrition-related content across media platforms and the Good Housekeeping Seal applications in the food space.
I'm also the founder and director of Good Housekeeping Food and Nutrition Brand Lab, and Good Housekeeping Nutritionist Approved Emblem www.ghnutritionistapproved.com, which launched in Fall 2016.
Since transitioning to magazine journalism, I've focused on translating clinical and epidemiological research findings into digestible information for consumers on the pages of Good Housekeeping.
Some of my most recent accomplishments include: Editorial design, execution, and nutritional criteria/content generation for the GH SuperCarb Diet in print and digital editions; design and execution of monthly Ask Jackie page; Hearst Books contributor for GH food and health titles, including nutritional information, coordination with freelance authors for written introduction, nutritional direction, and recipe curation. I also design and execute large scale consumer taste-tests for GH based on consumer food and beverage trends as well as new and developing nutritional epidemiology.
I've appeared on a number of national TV segments on behalf of the brand, including the TODAY Show, The Rachael Ray Show, The Dr. Oz Show, WSJLive, and ABC News.
Previously, I served as a Senior Dietitian and media spokesperson at Mount Sinai, and was responsible for designing and implementing the hospital’s employee weight loss program and diagnostic criteria for malnutrition. I also collaborated with researchers on a developing clinical trial examining the effects of diet on the gut microbiome of Multiple Sclerosis patients.
Additionally, I counseled clients in nutrition therapy for endurance athletics, eating disorders, diabetes, kidney disease, cardiovascular disease, and weight management at the nutrition private practice, Nutrition Energy, here in midtown Manhattan.
Some fun facts about me are that in addition to my role at GH, I'm an adjunct professor of nutrition in the Biology Department at Touro College, a guest lecturer in sports nutrition at SoulCycle, and I participate regularly in speaking engagements, panels, and presentations for various national organizations including The James Beard Foundation, The Culinary Institutes of America, Wellness in the Schools, and New York University. I live in Manhattan.
Now's your chance to ask me anything! Please write your questions in the comments section below and I'll answer the questions live on Tuesday, March 28th at 11:30am ET.
