There are many cities in Europe that I have visited but there is not a single one that has made me feel more in love with than Milan. The Italian city which has far more to offer besides fashion has literally stolen my little wandering heart. Sunny and cold at the same time, full of energy and creative vibes, rich in culture and luxurious in design and lifestyle this north italian city got me hooked. And as if the beauty of this industrial city was not already enough, now the decorative lights of the xmas season have made it more luminous and sparkling than any other time of the year.
So, if you have the chance to pass by this city, stroll in the narrow streets and enjoy the different decorations. Dancing figures or champagne glasses, wrapped gifts and messages of love, red carpets and a massive amount of tourists make the city a beating heart. You ought to see the Galleria di Vittorio Emanuele II where the famous Swarovski tree is almost as famous as the Duomo, the gothic styled Cathedral of Milan. Christmas trees can be found all around and a small delicious corner of Xmas food is located on Naviglio Grande, the river that runs through the city and is the perfect place for romantic walks.
During my last visit in Milan, a couple of days ago I captured the lighting installations. I have always had a thing for lights. They remind me of what I chase mostly in life: the small, bright moments of happiness. Fast and emotionally blinding every single time. Like a lightning made of love.
