I'll tell you what's not a middle school mindset: stressing about money, work, and whatever else is lurking around trying to take us down. In middle school all we cared about were bracelets, getting out book reports done, and our group of friends that could never be torn apart...so much for that right?
Well what's important here is that we remember the good things about our pre-teen selves. We had fun without phones, spent a lot of time playing outside, and looked forward to the future. Maybe we need more of this attitude now, but with a little twist. Just like we tried to get As on those group projects, we could now aim toward getting a better education or job. Just like we used to play outside, we could now travel to new places. Just like we tried to fit every bracelet possible on our once small wrists, we could now be treating ourselves to a new bag or a great meal.
Most importantly, just like we couldn't wait to get to high school, we should now be just as excited for the rest of our future. Everyone could benefit from a little change in perspective.
