Mediterranean Europe is a magical kingdom of spectacular beaches and surreal natural beauty. From the miles of smooth, white sand to the stretches of rounded pebbles, the beaches of this region are a sunbather's delight and offer thrilling opportunities for water sports. The cornflower blue skies, puffy clouds, and pleasantly warm sunshine create the perfect environment for a beach vacation. These are wonderful spots to relax and unwind as you travel through the stunning landscapes and historical cities of the continent. Feel the frothy waves beneath your toes and let the cool sea breeze blow away your worries at these unique beaches of Mediterranean Europe.


Elafonissi Beach, Greece

The Elafonissi Beach in Greece is a realm of soft white sand with a faint pink glow imparted by crushed seashells. The shallow waters of the lagoons are safe for swimming and make this beach ideal for a family excursion. Navagio Beach, Greece

The Navagio Beach or the Shipwreck Beach is an exceptionally unique beach with a sandy cove that has earned the moniker of Smugglers Cove. These nicknames have been bestowed upon the beach because it is home to the wreckage of a freight liner called Panagiotis, which is rumored to have been a smugglers ship. Regardless of the speculations about its history, the beach is splendidly marvelous,with a sapphire bay surrounded by a crescent-shaped cliff. Take pictures with the rusty remains of the wrecked vessel, or simply lie down on the narrow strip of sand to listen to the ambiance of the waves. A drive up to the top of the cliff where a balcony is provided for enjoying the panoramic views is also highly recommended.


These unbelievably gorgeous beaches are some of the most fabulous destinations for a summer vacation. The temperate climate provides a cooling comfort whereas the outstanding scenery is a feast for the eyes. Needless to say, these shining stars of Mediterranean Europe need to be experienced in person to realize the magnificence of its natural wonders.
