Summer is around the corner and this 2017 make sure you have all of your essentials before you hit the beach. If you want to rock all of this year’s summer styles this is what you’re going to need:
The Sassy Slip-ons
Despite how much you might love your gladiator sandals, doing up all of those buckles when you’re covered in sand and the tide’s coming in is not exactly ideal. Get yourself a pair of simple slip-on shoes to take to the beach for an easy transition between beach and boardwalk. How about some printed vans to wear with some cute and simple shorts?
This summer the shades are going to be bold and bright, so be prepared. The vintage look is still in, so funk up your eyewear with some pointy retro 50s sunglasses, circle sunglasses with coloured lenses, or sunglasses with embellished frames. Go crazy with your sunglasses and make them as bold and as beautiful as you can fit on your face.
The Cool Dress
Cool as in ‘trendy’ but also cool as in ‘breezy’. Everyone needs to have that one summer dress that’s easy to pull on and wear on hot days. Find a printed dress that goes with everything to make summer outfit decisions. Keep your legs cool and yourself looking gorgeous in a simple summer dress. Keep the fabric nice and thin and the length just halfway up your thigh.
Summer hats keep the sun out of your eyes, keep your cheeks free from sunburn and generally look adorable. Try something a little different from the typical straw circle hat this year. Why not mix things up with a straw trilby, a visor or an extra-wide brimmed felt hat in some bold colours. Mix it up and make it your own.
String bikinis are being put back on the shelf this year and a slinky one-piece swimsuit is what’s in. Shop for your body shape and get yourself a simple swimsuit to pair with some colourful sarongs and patterned shorts. That way you can turn a swimsuit into a cool outfit in seconds without any hassle. As for the kids, ditch the cheesy patterned costumes and check out Thomas Royall for some classy children’s designer swimming shorts. Now if only they had a swimming costume to match.
When it comes to the right summer bag, you can never go wrong with a cool graphic tote. They can complement an outfit without drawing too much focus and they can carry exactly what we need for the beach without being too bulky. If you’ve got a bit more to carry, try a straw tote with a few colourful embellishments. Keep it simple.
Go all out on the hair accessories. The noughties are coming back and they’re bringing their pom-pom hair ties with them. As for jewellery, go for understated. With all of the bold styles that we’re seeing this summer it’s best to tone down the jewellery by wearing some delicate hoop earrings and a simple pendant.
