Creating A Safer & Happier Halloween

An astounding 1 in every 13 children in the U.S. has been diagnosed with some form of food allergy.

With this growing trend towards food intolerance, it's becoming more and more difficult for kids to participate in traditional trick-or-treating.

Thanks to the Teal Pumpkin Project, households across the U.S. and worldwide are making it possible for these kids to have a safe and enjoyable holiday with the rest of their siblings and friends.

Check out this awesome organization and take the pledge to offer non-food treats so every child can have a great time!

Things like the Teal Pumpkin Project didn't exist when I growing up. While it's a wonderful incentive, I also fear that in order to remain open to everyone, that giving out candy at Halloween will soon become a thing of the past due to being "politically correct" in a sense. I hope that doesn't happen.

That is the point with the Teal Pumpkin Project to make it more inclusive for all kids which will help keep it alive...

Yes, and if we want to keep the tradition going, we need to do our part and offer other treats.

That's the thing Courtney, everyone is afraid of offending someone. The holidays and traditions should still carry on. If someone doesn't like it, then don't participate.

That's how I feel too. That's my biggest concern with projects like the Teal Pumpkin Project, which isn't mean to get rid of Halloween but in today's world, people can carry it too far. I enjoy the idea of having toys for gifts too! Thanks for sharing!

Since food allergies have become more acknowledged, I like this teal project. Because of my background in health, I try to offer candy and toys age appropriate to give out for Halloween. Yes, it means having a few cauldrons but the joy it brings to the kids and parents is so worth it!
