Amino Acids – Key Component in Bodybuilding

Image title

Promoting muscle growth, muscle repair, strength and stamina are the functional formula of amino acids. Bodybuilders and athletes do not require protein to eat, but what they need is amino acids. Amino acids are of different types such as branched chain amino acids and essential and non essential amino acids. Food such as meat milk and eggs are crushed into their elemental and nutritional form, etc.

There are all together 22 types of amino acids but out of those only few can be used by the muscle for a regular metabolic function. There are eight essential amino acids which cannot be synthesized by our body and obtained from outside source.

* Branched Chain Amino Acids

Branched-chain amino acids are essential nutrients obtained by the basic protein source rich especially in food, meat, dairy products, and legumes. The BCAAs involve leucine, isoleucine, and valine.

Branched chain amino acids helps to stimulate the growth and strength of muscles, although it helps to break free radicals. Branched-chain amino acids prevent diseases like, mania, dyskinesia, andanorexia.

The BCAAs are unique elements of any supplement as it only metabolize in muscle and termed as muscle amino.

* Essential Amino acids

Out of all the amino acids, each one of them is functional but not essential. Here are 9 essential amino acids: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine vital for building muscles, size, strength and stamina and especially in protein synthesis.

They have unique molecular structure and easily metabolized by muscles. Leucine has the most anabolic features and it allows the muscle for easy digestion and utilization, although cysteine has many health benefits.

Glutathione helps to maintain immune system functions and gives support against oxidative stress.

Lysine, an essential amino acid helps to promote calcium absorption and muscle recovery.
Methionine is required by your body for optimal health and wellness.

L-Tyrosine promotes optimal adrenal, thyroid and pituitary function in order to support mood and mental calmness.

* Improve Physical Performance

According to a study by National Strength and Conditioning Association, BCAA is the marginal component engaged in improving performance and efficiency.

During muscle breakdown, enzymes like creatine, cortisol and the level of stress hormone rises, but while using BCAAs all went down also the rate of anabolic activity went up.

The burning of fat in muscle and oxidation of BCAAs in the body, results in high intensity workouts. Any physical workout leading to fat oxidation raises the amount for BCAA intake, more BCAA engaged in more endurance and high performing environment.

* Replenish Anabolic Environment

Testosterone, insulin and growth hormones are anabolic hormones associated with muscles and BCAA stimulates its activity. As per the role of essential amino acids, it potentially encourages the protein synthesis without catabolic interference.

Leucine helps in maintain muscles and reduce weight. To get most out of the supplements there are vitamins required for BCAA metabolism.

BCAA increases the blood flow for training which promotes greater amino acid entry into muscle. It also helps to recover muscle damage during exercise and block delayed onset muscle soreness during intense heavy workout.
