About me
Kirthi Jayakumar is a lawyer by education, but a writer, artist, activist and a social entrepreneur by profession. She founded and runs The Red Elephant Foundation, is a Vital Voices VVLead Fellow (2015) and a World Pulse Voices of the Future Leader (2016). She has written four solo books (two fiction, two non-fiction) and has contributed to a couple of fiction anthologies and non-fiction compendiums. Kirthi is a graduate of the University of Peace in Costa Rica. She is the recipient of the US Presidential Services Medal from President Barack Obama (2012) and the UN Volunteer of the Year Award (2012, 2013). Kirthi lives in Chennai and enjoys zendoodling, travelling and dancing. She dreams of meeting Anne Frank in the after life, if there is ever one, and hopes to meet Mona Lisa to find out exactly what that expression was all about.
