Hi! I'm Trish Regan. I'm the host of The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan at 2pm ET – a program I started just a year and a half ago at Fox Business Network. I’ve worked really hard and we’ve built the show into a destination spot for viewers.  I’m the highest rated woman in all of business television – an accomplishment I’m so proud of.  So, thank you to all of those that are watching!

Since joining Fox Business Network I’ve had the opportunity to be on the frontlines of history – moderating two Presidential Primary debates, hosting our Primetime Democratic and Republican Convention coverage, and playing a major role in our Election Night analysis. I love looking at the intersection between politics and the economy – so, with so much economic policy being proposed, let’s just say, I’ve been pretty busy.  From tax cuts to healthcare to stimulus spending, there’s a lot to talk about these days!

Before FBN, I was an anchor of the daily market-close program, Street Smart with Trish Regan, which aired daily on Bloomberg. While there, I also anchored a series of primetime specials, including all of the network's 2012 Presidential campaign coverage. Like at Fox Business, I regularly interviewed prominent figures, including Richard Branson, Madeline Albright, Condoleezza Rice, and Bill Clinton. Prior to Bloomberg, I was anchor at CNBC where I reported for NBC News, contributing to Nightly News and The Today Show.

Some things you may not know about me: While I was a student at Columbia University studying American History, I worked in the Emerging Debt Markets group at Goldman Sachs.  I was born in New Hampshire and was Miss New Hampshire in the Miss America Pageant. I'm married to the love of my life, James.  He’s known me since my early days as a student and encouraged me to go into television. Together we have three young children (twin girls and a son).

I may have one of the more unusual backgrounds in television news because, unlike a lot of people that pursue this career, I never anticipated being in this business.  In fact, when I was 14, I dreamt of becoming an opera singer and pursued it pretty aggressively.  I got my dream job at an opera house in Germany, but ultimately, decided to become a financial journalist. It was a hard decision at the time – but, I made it and never looked back.

Now's your chance to ask me anything! Please write your questions in the comments section below and I'll answer the questions live on Thursday, March 2nd at 3:30pm ET.

Write a rTrish, Are you aware of the difficulty Tesla Motors is having throughout the country in opening new Service Centers? Seems the Automobile Dealers Association in each state opposes this move and doesn't like Tesla's business plan of selling direct to the consumer. Name me one other industry or service that is not allowed to sell direct to the consumer. I own a Tesla here in Virginia, and must travel to DC, the nearest Service Center. Tesla is attempting to open a second center in Richmond but the local dealer's association has filed lawsuits, lost in court, and then filed appeals at every turn......I believe they're on the wrong side of history and need to move out of the dark ages and into this century! Thanks! eply...

Will you be covering the criminal investigation involving the five Pakistanis working for the Dems? It's a big story that is getting almost no airtime. I think Maria Bartiromo reported on it once. Most I've seen is on The Daily Caller online. This needs exposure! Thank you, Trish. I love your reporting! http://dailycaller.com/2017/03/01/pakistani-suspects-in-house-it-probe-received-4-million-from-dem-reps/?utm_campaign=atdailycaller&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Social

TRISH, do you still sing opera songs just for hobby, where (church) ? How about easy listening songs ? What musical instrument/s do you play ? I'm just curious because I read that you professionally studied & graduated in music but pursued to become a financial journalist. By the way, I admire you as host in FBN TRISH INTEL. Thank you.

Not so much opera. (I live in a NY apartment building so, I try to take it easy on my neighbors.) But, I DO sing lullabies to my children when I put them to bed. Every night. I studies piano and began that at four years old. I still play! It's one of my favorite things to do.

What is your opinion of "fake news"? Have you ever been pressured by network executives to report on something that wasn't vetted properly (possibly untrue) to advance a political agenda?

There's a problem with it - for sure. Increasingly, we're seeing, that in a rush to get a story out...and in an effort to simply get more clicks online, journalists are forgetting the value of and importance of the profession. Information must be authenticated. It must be properly vetted - and it's critical that a journalist understands the bias that different sources may have. If you refuse to engage in vigorous vetting, and traffic in rumors, then you might as well be a tabloid.

Why does FBN choose to report on politics over business news? Isn't FNC for politics and FBN for business? Why do they employ this model? Is it purely for ratings or is there more to it? Important business stories have been neglected for whatever reason and I have to watch Bloomberg to get that news.

All the business networks are covering the intersection of politics and business right now but, no one understands that intersection better than us. The policies that President Trump and his team are proposing - everything from tax cuts to infrastructure spending to trade deals - are what dictate the direction of our markets. We've been on the this story from the very beginning in a way that our competitors cannot rival. Consider this: Trump's speech on Tuesday night sent the market soaring better than 300 points on Wednesday... and yet, can you believe CNBC refused to take the speech? Instead, they were in taped reruns of an entertainment show. To me, that suggests an inability to understand what is news and what moves markets. But, we get it. And viewers know we get it - which is why, for five straight months we've beaten CNBC in the ratings.

Why does FBN not run 24/7? It's become my main network. So much paid programming. Would you answer my question about Trey Gowdy? I don't understand why he has not been picked by Trump for something.

Do you agree with the following statement in response to the MSM ‘s literal interpretation of the President’s words: “That was the thing about words, they were clear and specific - chair, eye, stone - but when you talked about feelings, words were too stiff. They were this and not that. They couldn't include all the meanings. In defining, they always left something out.” -Janet Fitch How can you accurately poll the public when each house in a district could hold a completely different reality? In a single block, there could be fifty separate worlds.

Ms. Trish Regan, (1) do you personally answer your followers' comments on Twitter ? (2) You were the 1993 Miss New Hampshire, was the price enough to get you through Columbia University ? (3) Your media photos show your beauty and physical fitness, are those pix recent ? If yes, do you maintain your weight by controlling food & sweet consumption ? & noticeably, you wear 'open toes' daily on TRISH INTEL REPORT, is that your signature or for comfort shoes ? Congratulations with your accomplishments over the years. Like you, Trish , I'm also a working mother, AVP for a medical center in NJ. Who said only men can go places ? LOL ! Have fun...

Hi - yes, I tweet myself and answer a lot of questions on Twitter. The @Trish_Regan account is run by me (though my team helps out with headlines and videos during the show.) Other than that - it's all me. I love that you're a working mom! I know it's not easy - but, we working moms know how to prioritize and we know how to get stuff done! I'm so proud of what I do and I've worked very hard to get here. I'm the highest rated woman in business news -- something I consider a real honor. I love being a role model for my daughters and for my son. It's important for children to see that a women can manage both a career and a family. We need as many working moms in the workforce as we can get -- and we need to support each other. Congrats to you on all you do!

It's feels like an honor to be asking you a question, Trish, since you're an exceptionally great anchor. I'm a big fan of your show on FBN. My question: Many economists believe that there will be a major stock market crash in the future, even after the Dow 20k and the positive Trump effect. Do you foresee a major stock market crash in the future? Or is this just fear mongering?

No, I'm not worried about a major crash in the near future (though, I sure was worried back in 2006 and 2007. And, sadly, I was right.) Regardless of your politics, the good news now is that there are real policies being proposed that should generate growth. I know many were worried about a Trump presidency - with some economists like Paul Krugman at the NY Times predicting a real doomsday scenario. He was very wrong. The Dow is up more than 15% since Trump's win and it's because the market likes his pro-growth, pro-business policies. Lower taxes and less regulation are hard to argue with if you want to general real growth.

Do you appreciate reporters who are so self-absorbed and narcissistic that the story becomes about them rather than the actual subject of the news story? Have you noticed a deterioration in the quality and intellectual capacity of journalists? (I mean why would networks want to pay large salaries to journalists who are now expendable)

Gosh -- I don't watch a ton of TV shows right now. I joke that our third child resulted in the end of my binge watching on Netflix. I do consume lots of news programs - and lots of kids shows! We usually have a friday night movie night with the my twin girls and son so, that's fun...and means 'm pretty up to speed on G-rated animated movies.

Trish, I'm John and I'm a college conservative(yes, we exist!). There are three shows I don't miss every day: Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson, and you. Thanks a million for reaching out to your fans. You're a professional in every sense of the word, and I hope your audience gets even bigger. Opera to broadcasting is quite the unique transition. What made you switch, and who did you look up to?

Thank you! That's wonderful to hear that you're watching -- and, yes, you college conservatives are a rather small group these days! From opera to broadcasting... yes, it's a bit of a switch but, there are a lot of skills I learned as a singer that are pretty applicable. Hard work - for sure. Studying classical music provided me with a real work ethic (practice, practice, practice) and the singing background has meant that I have an understanding about how to communicate. I'd also add that singing is a whole lot harder than talking... so, whenever i get nervous - I remind myself... I'm only speaking, and at least it's in my own language!

Hi Trish, are you going to go any further with FOX News or are you happy with the role you have now. I read where you were in the running for replacement for Megyn Kelly. What ever you do I am sure you will be successful. You are a GREAT interviewer and when ever you are on I DVR your appearances because I always look forward to what you have to say. Keep up the GOOD work.

That's great to hear! I never script questions... I always know where I want to go -- but, I never script them out. I believe interviews should be fluid and my job is to listen and to react. Hi Trish, The American Mirror reported that 2 million illegal hispanic, non-citizens voted in this past election cycle. Being just one demographic, that number is most-likely higher in the overall view. Given that anyone on the left would look at this and immediately disregard it as "only one study" or "right-wing propaganda" because they're so convinced it's just not true that an illegal could possibly cast a vote in our election process, what is your take on the integrity and strength of our democracy? Is Trump simply whistling dixie as Democrats would say he is that millions upon millions voted illegally this last go round? Where I live in California, illegals can legally obtain a driver's license. The left is heavily against voter ID restrictions because it "discriminates against minorities". This is why I'm more than convinced that Trump won the popular vote. As the "surplus" of Hillary's votes came primarily from California and a few of the burroughs in New York. Thank you for taking my question. I watch you religiously everyday as you and Sean Hannity are pretty much my only remaining outlets in the MSM. Thank you for being honest with me! Ben http://www.theamericanmirror.com/2-million-non-citizens-illegally-registered-vote-us/

I need an ID just to get into the building I work in every day. So, no - I don't think it's asking too much to require voters to present identification.

Become an expert in something. For me, it was the economy. It's important to have a knowledge base outside of general news. Having the ability to look at news through an economic prism, gives me a unique perspective on stories.

Are you aware that some of Trump's "agenda" (the wall and bullet trains) was extracted from Drew Droege's 2011 parody podcast Glitter in the Garbage (Ep: Turn off the Dark) featuring Pat Buchanan, Rachel Maddow, Jay Leno, & Bill Maher? Of course, it was all a joke then with Pat Buchanan being the resident lunatic.

Trish, Are you aware of the difficulty Tesla Motors is having throughout the country in opening new Service Centers? Seems the Automobile Dealers Association in each state opposes this move and doesn't like Tesla's business plan of selling direct to the consumer. Name me one other industry or service that is not allowed to sell direct to the consumer. I own a Tesla here in Virginia, and must travel to DC, the nearest Service Center. Tesla is attempting to open a second center in Richmond but the local dealer's association has filed lawsuits, lost in court, and then filed appeals at every turn......I believe they're on the wrong side of history and need to move out of the dark ages and into this century! Thanks!

Hope I've done this correctly. Hi, Trish! Thank you so much for enabling contact by ordinary people!!! I, too, majored in post Civil War U.S. History with an Economics minor. My basic interest is on the byplay between a growing economy, rising interest rates, and the cost of financing a $20T debt. Will increased debt service divert $$ from the discretionary budget? Will FED action limit the scope of Congressional action? With our existing debt, what are the prospects for big ticket items, especially if entitlement reform of some sort is off the table?

you're right to be concerned about the debt. specifically, the interest on our debt. but - so far, interest rates have yet to spike... so, we're okay for now. We NEED economic growth badly. Let's hope we get some.

I appreciate great debate & opposition, especially for research, however, why does FOX (both) choose slavish adherent democratic strategists with no common sense, ethics or morals for most of their contributors? I know you and Tucker won't let them spew lies & propaganda, but most anchors let them say anything with NO BASIS IN TRUTH. Is this just a ratings game like the rest of the MSM and not really informing the public of what they truly need the TRUTH?

I'm been following the Public employee Pension issue in CA for over 20 years. Lot's written, little done. Now cities across the country are crowding out services, gutting staff, and going bankrupt because of hefty public pension promises and underfunding for which we taxpayers are on the hook. Taxpayers who make significantly less and have no pensions. Why doesn't business programs like yours cover this debacle which is crushing towns across America??

I missed that but am comforted to know your staff is following the developments. The recent change from CALPERS lowering their expected rate of return on investments has: 1. Ensured more crowd-out of services because larger tax monies will have to cover the gap and 2. Spawned a disturbing and growing list of cities sounding the alarm as they see their mandatory contributions (as public employers) jacked up to meet the deficit. It's frightening and people like my husband and I who have lived, worked and are now retired in CA feel powerless to stop the insanity. Thx for responding

I love talking the Fed - and considering they're contemplating another rate hike in March... we'll be talking about it plenty. That said, as I mentioned earlier - the markets are quite dependent on the policies President Trump wants to enact. So, we're watching that very carefully for you -- it's the story that's going to have a profound effect on our economy.

Just want share ways of paying for the wall: from the Gulf to the Pacific at any point add toll roads, power transmission lines, pipe lines and utilities. Just a few things that would pay for the wall. They could be an integral part of the wall. All the steel that goes into the construction will come from the US. Towns, eating facilities, gas stations, motels, etc should spring up along this construction work. It seems as though this should increase jobs as well. Can you help me get this idea out there for discussion? Regards Harold T

I started studying piano as a four year old kid -- and just really liked singing. It turned out I had a really amazing voice - so i read ever book on opera i could and listened to every recording I could get my hands on... and studied music non-stop. I loved singing - but, i love what i do even more. I am on the front lines of history in the news business - and every day is different.
